Why Perfume And Coffee Make The Perfect Pair
Share
From the beginning of time, the aroma of perfume and coffee have always been very seductive. The robust velvety liquid of coffee tends to lure people in the same way a profound scent does. It’s been known that people will travel around the world to find the best in both.
Have you ever wondered why coffee beans are always stationed at every fragrance counter at department stores or boutiques? Well, wonder no more! Travel with me for a second.
Let’s say that we are spending an evening at a Michelin Star restaurant indulging in a seven course meal. Just like any writer that takes their time to put pen to paper with profound words so that their experiences come alive or an artist tossing paint on a canvas to enlighten your imagination. Chefs are considered artists in the art of culinary. Each ingredient in a dish is to be experienced. Therefore, you will notice a small bit of sorbet served in between each course. This is meant to cleanse the palate of the prior dish so that the one currently being served is ensured to be a well-received experience.
At a fragrance counter with so many different options to smell, it ends up leaving your sense of smell muddled. After a while of smelling different perfumes, sampling one after another, you will experience nasal fatigue. This happens because your receptors are becoming less and less sensitive to the notes in the perfumes. In simple words, your sense of smell is getting used to a scent and doesn’t recognize it as a new scent.
However, if you’re not a fan of smelling coffee beans in between sampling perfumes you can always take a clean handkerchief with you and smell it in between each option.
